Villrot Medival interprets old nordic ballades in song, rhythm and historical instruments. Villrot Medival offers rhythmical tastes of folk-music, influenced by the northern light and swings. Most of the medieval songs and tunes are old ballades, some features of joik or improvisations, in their own interpretations.
Hans Myllarhus on fiol, moraharps, bagpipe and lute, Jorunn Skaldmøy is singing, joiking, plays jews-harp, Sitter and Lothar, Espen Julgeitson on drums, percussion, harp, lute and double base. Sometimes fabulous music, in northern dialects, inspired by old survivors and beyond cliches. Villrot Medival music develops, among the musicians’ playing together like a folk-band, for up to thirty years. With inspiration from the fjord and coastline of Troendelag, as well from the mountains of the north, they likely also perform their own compositions in folk-rock genre.
